Labelist 10

Posted on March 14, 2017

Chronos is pleased to announce the release of Labelist 10. This new version is all about color. Proper use of color can make a drab design really stand out. Effective use of color, however, is not always easy for mere mortals without a design degree. Labelist changes this with its four major new features: Photo Analyzer, Color Schemes, Color Wheel, and Eyedropper tool. We invite you to learn more.

Website Redesign

Posted on March 13, 2017

We're pleased to announce a complete and total redesign of the Chronos website. We last redesigned the site about 15 years ago, so it's been a long time coming. We quite literally started from scratch for a couple of reasons. First, the old website was built on some old technologies that our internet service provider no longer was able to support (no one else can either). They called us and told us they needed to decommission the server our site was running on because it was too old and couldn't be supported any longer. After a bunch of research, we learned that there were too many technical hurdles for us to simply move our site to a new server. Some drastic changes were thus needed. Second, there are much better ways of building websites nowadays so it just made sense.

The project took about twice as long as expected, but was a lot of fun. We still have some loose ends that we need to tie and we're certain a few things will change, but it's mostly done. Of course, complete redesigns always come with a few downsides as well. For example, it was going to be too difficult and time-consuming to integrate our old customer database with the new system. While this pains us greatly, we had no choice but to move forward. There will also be some broken links as older versions of our apps try to access some pages that no longer exist. Such is the price of progress.

We hope you enjoy the new site and find it easier to look at and navigate. It's designed to be responsive so it will work a lot better when accessed on mobile devices. Since it's built on a solid and modern platform, we hope it will serve us and our customers well for many years.
