iScrapbook Version History
Key Improvements
- Printing of larger scrapbook albums is now much quicker and uses less memory
- Worked around a problem in Leopard where PDF images would sometimes print low resolution
New Features
- Added some Curved Text controls to the inspector window. Curved text can now be set to: Circular or Spiral. The spiral "rate" can be adjusted from "Slow" to "Fast". Spiral text works best with larger text boxes.
- Added stepper buttons next to the font size field in the inspector window. This makes it much easier to resize text.
Key Improvements
- iScrapbook can now read "Template Libraries" which contain multiple page/album templates. Previously, each template had to be added separately.
- Previously, when an album template was added to the software, the page size wasn't read correctly which resulted in the template being placed in the wrong folder -- fixed.
- Fixed a problem with the included "Suede" templates (the picture frames & text were incorrectly placed on the background layer)
- Fixed a crash that would occur when printing documents with images whose settings (hue, saturation, image effects, etc.) had been changed. This only occurred under Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
- Fixed a crash that occurred when printing a document with a large background image (where the background image resolution exceeded the Print Quality preference)

Key Improvements
- Fixed some problems where pages couldn't be saved and loaded correctly on computers running TIGER (Mac OS X 10.4).
- When the page size or orientation is changed in the Page Setup dialog, the selected album is immediately updated so all of the pages in the album use the new page size or orientation.
NOTE: there continue to be display problems related to images that have image effects applied when running under Leopard on an Intel-based Macintosh. These problems are caused by a bug in the Leopard system software. Apple is aware of this bug and they're working on a bug fix.

New Features
- Added circular text boxes. Circular text boxes have dedicated inspector tools for choosing whether the text is drawn inside or outside of the circle and at what angle.
Key Improvements
- When a drop shadow was added to a text box that was cropping an image, the entire text box would appear black -- fixed.
- When a frame was added to a page by double-clicking the frame in the Element drawer, the frame wouldn't be inserted correctly -- fixed.
- Fixed a problem where images with effects applied would appear garbled at small sizes. This only happened under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
- Fixed a problem where page thumbnails appeared distorted or with black lines around them. This is due to a bug in Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
- Fixed problem that sometimes caused iPhoto albums and photos to not appear

Key Improvements
- Now runs under Tiger AND Leopard
- Holding down the shift key while resizing a photo now ALWAYS keeps the photo correctly proportioned.
- When "Define as Image Placeholder" was called for a non-rectangular shape (eg. a circle), the shape was replaced with a rectangle -- fixed.
- Made displaying of page thumbnails much faster.
- When a large page is selected, we immediately load a page "preview" while the actual page is being loaded (so the user doesn't have to look at the previously selected page or a blank screen).
- Added the ability to create letter and A4 albums in landscape orientation (previously landscape pages had to be set up as a custom size).
- Renamed the "Color Wash" effect as "Tint". Also added Tint controls to the Color tools in the inspector window when an image is selected.
- When a background image is set for a page and proportional scaling is selected, it now completely covers the background.
- The up/down buttons in the template selector window weren't working -- fixed.
- Photo objects (photos with a built-in mask for a transparent background) sometimes appeared with white backgrounds -- fixed.
- High resolution images occasionally were drawn at low resolution -- fixed.
- Standalone inspector windows were sometimes being incorrectly repositioned under the selected graphics (standalone inspectors shouldn't move) -- fixed.
- When an album is deleted, it is moved to the trash. If the user changes their mind, it can be dragged out of the trash and double-clicked to add it back to the scrapbook library.
- EPS images aren't a native image format on Mac OS X although they can be displayed with the help of a converter. The converter is very slow so as soon as an EPS image is added to a design, we convert it to a PDF.
- New built-in updater system allows the application to be automatically updated without downloading and running an installer application.

Key Improvements
- When an image is dropped on a Placeholder, it's now automatically cropped to be the same size as the Placeholder
- Fixed problem where an image dropped on a Placeholder would temporarily disappear
- Fixed problem that would cause some images to become distorted when they were dropped on Placeholders
- Fixed problem that would cause images dragged from the Favorites bin to the canvas to not work properly

Key Improvements
- Added several image optimizations that make the software more responsive and result in much smaller files when documents are exported in PDF format.
- There's now an "Image Display Quality" preference that sets the resolution of images displayed in the software. The "Print Quality" preference sets the resolution of images when they are printed. So it's possible to display lower resolution images in the software for faster performance while still outputting high resolution images in printouts.
- Text boxes can now be defined as Image Placeholders so when an image is dropped on the text box, the image will be cropped by the text.
- When a grouped set of graphics is selected, the resize "knobs" are drawn differently so the user knows that a group is selected. Plus, the inspector window provides a button for selecting individual members of the group.
- When an image is cropped, the inspector window provides a circular slider and angle field for precisely controlling the rotation of the image being cropped.
- Added Spotlight support. Spotlight can now be used to search for the title of a scrapbook page or for any text that appears on the page.
- Moved the iScrapbook album/page library to the Documents folder.
