Key Improvements
|
- The software is now a "universal binary" so it will run natively on Intel-based Macs as well as PowerPC-based Macs.
- The SOHO Labels & Envelopes application is now located in the SOHO Series folder inside the Applications folder.
- Added a preference to automatically delete blank lines when text fields are filled in. For example, if a Company field is on its own line and the selected contact has no company name, that line will be deleted. Previously, it would be left as a blank line unless "text dependency" fields were used (the fields that look like '[' and ']'). This should greatly reduce the need for the text dependency fields.
- Removed the text dependency fields from the standard return & delivery address blocks since they're no longer necessary.
- When creating new documents, we now zoom the document to fit the window. Previously, new documents were always set to 100%.
- Improved resizing of graphics. It's now easier to grab the resizing knobs, especially when the zoom setting is small.
- Complete address fields now support additional country formats (eg. Kuwait) that have been added since Jaguar.
- Software updates are now loaded in the background so the application won't be tied up for a long time on slow internet connections.
- Fixed a problem where images added to shapes would print out very small. This only happened when the image position was set to "Center".
- Fixed a problem where high resolution or vector images were sometimes being printed at 72dpi which made them look fuzzy.
- Fixed a problem that occurred under Mac OS X 10.4 where certain images would appear as garbage when a mask image was applied to them.
- Fixed a problem where image files dragged from the Finder into a document would sometimes come in with their width/height set to zero.
- Moved the Create Text button to the right side of the window. This provides better grouping of the controls that relate to inserting objects into the document
- When we paste images (whether from a file path or actual image data on the pasteboard), the new image is centered in the visible portion of the canvas.
- Can now double-click a shape, clip art image or photo to insert it into the document.
- Reorganized the Line style tools. Now the arrowhead tools are easier to understand and the size of each arrowhead is displayed.
- Increased the maximum arrowhead size for lines (to allow for larger arrows).
- Added an "Open Existing File" button to the new document sheet (so user doesn't have to dismiss sheet, then choose Open File command).
- Added a "NameOrCompany" field that uses the first & last name if the contact is a person (as opposed to a company/organization); otherwise, uses the company name.
- Added preferences for changing the grid spacing and the grid guideline spacing. The grid no longer moves as the window is resized -- it's anchored to the page origin.
- Added some "wiggle room" before initiating a drag. This should reduce the number of inadvertent drags when clicking or double-clicking objects.
- Added a "Move Graphics By" command for offsetting a group of graphics all at once.
- We now prompt the user before opening any AutoRecover files that are left on disk (if the computer/software crashes). The user can choose to open the files or move them to the trash.

New Features
|
- Added support for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger
- The contact list can now be sorted by company name
- Companies are now displayed in the contact list using the standard building icon (like in the Address Book app)
|
|
Improvements
|
- The contact list now correctly displays contacts with only a first name
- The "# Copies" setting is now saved in the document, so if you print 5 copies of a particular label, the next time you open that file, it will still be set to 5 copies
- When choosing a ready-made design, clicking the group name (eg. "Abstract") now automatically expands the group
- Added a more accurate description of the "Primary" address (or phone, email, etc.)
- If you've selected a custom layout, clicking the "Change Format" button no longer resets the dimensions
- If you save a custom layout, switching to the Recent layouts tab and back to Custom no longer overwrites the saved layout
- When "Perfect Balance" is applied to an address block (so the address is centered horizontally), the width of the POSTNET barcode is now taken into consideration when calculating the center point. Previously, the barcode for a 9-digit zipcode would extend off the right edge of smaller labels.
- When an import file is being used to generate POSTNET barcodes, the '-' character is now automatically stripped from 9-digit zipcodes (previously, a zipcode in the form "12345-6789" wouldn't produce a barcode because of the '-' character)
- If you've generated 10 envelopes, selecting pages 6-10 in the Print dialog now correctly prints envelopes 6-10 (previously, it would always print the FIRST 5 envelopes)
- Removing the iPhoto library no longer causes problems
- Clip Art viewer no longer crashes when scrolling through the clip art fast
- Choosing "Wedding Invitation" from the popup menu associated with an address block now correctly formats the address block as a wedding invitation (eg. "Mr. and Mrs. Smith")
- The contact list will correctly appear in Preview mode when a text box contains a single contact field
- Editing a BLANK text box in Preview mode no longer crashes the software

|
|
|
- The software automatically selects a DYMO printer (if one is available) when printing a DYMO label.
- A delivery address (and/or return address) is automatically added to blank envelopes and address labels.
- Delivery address blocks are now color-coded to make them more easily distinguished from return address blocks.
- Added Expand All and Collapse All buttons to the Designs list in the new document dialog.
- Print One Copy command bypasses the Print Dialog if you only want to print one copy of a document.
- Preferred Printer submenu added to the File menu. If a preferred printer is selected, that printer will be the default when printing (the printer can still be changed in the Print Panel).
- Added custom date and time fields. There are 23 date formats and 5 time formats (date & time fields are found under the Miscellaneous tab in the Contact Fields drawer).
- Added an "All Avery" and "All DYMO" project type. If you have Avery or DYMO labels, you can just type the product code to locate the format without having to decide what type of label it is.
- More powerful Data Syphon. Added 10 more import fields (for a total of 20). This makes it easier to import data from complex FileMaker databases.
- Added a new "Matched Sets" item to the Project Type popup menu in the new document sheet. This makes it possible to see all components of a matched set in one place. A matched set is a group of letterhead, envelopes and labels all based on the same design.

Improvements
|
- Improved POSTNET barcode printing. Previously, the barcode would occasionally overlap the address when printed.
- The POSTNET barcode location (if enabled) is now saved with the document.
- Fixed a problem when copying or dragging text containing contact fields.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes caused a white box to appear on the screen.
- Improved PDF file saving. Previously, the page orientation could be incorrectly swapped.
- The software now remembers if the "My Designs" item in the Project Type popup menu was last selected.
- Improved the behavior of text boxes when fields are dragged over them. Previously, the insertion point would continue to blink making it difficult to see where the field would be dropped.
- Improved page setup. Previously, changing the page setup in one document would affect other open documents. Each document now saves its own page setup.
- Made the phone number formatting feature easier to use. Formatting is now changed by clicking a phone field and choosing a format from the popup menu (the Phone Format button has been removed from the Advanced Options window). If you've used phone number formatting in your designs, you will need to reselect the format using the popup menu.
