Park City, Utah - December 19, 2005 -- Chronos LC today announced the release of SOHO Calendars, the easiest way to share calendars on Mac OS X. SOHO Calendars is designed for both individual and workgroup use and makes sharing calendars over a network easier than ever. It is also a member of the new SOHO Organizer personal and business productivity suite and bears the "SOHO" moniker which identifies Chronos' acclaimed small office/home office series.
INTRODUCING SOHO CALENDARS...
SOHO Calendars is the easiest way to share calendars on Mac OS X. Shared calendars, events, and to-dos show up automatically in Apple's iCal where they can viewed and edited. A change made to a shared calendar on one user's machine automatically show up in everyone else's iCal. SOHO Calendars is perfect for managing meetings, group projects and shared to-do lists.
SOHO Calendars is written entirely in Cocoa and features Safari-inspired tabs for keeping multiple calendars open simultaneously in a window. It also debuts with a new list view for easily viewing and sorting lists of events and to-dos, something iCal doesn't do.
NETWORKABLE
SOHO Calendars can be used by individuals and workgroups alike. It is based on a commercial client-server database for high-performance and reliability. SOHO Calendars makes sharing calendars over a network easy for workgroups. It features advanced administration so various members of the workgroup can be assigned different levels of access to the calendars. Mobile users can even take shared calendars with them when they disconnect from the network so they always have access to the shared information. When they reconnect to the network, all of their changes to the shared calendars will automatically synchronize with the master shared database.
THE NEW STANDARD IN SYNCHRONIZATION
SOHO Calendars sets the gold standard for synchronization among calendar programs, so users have access to their information everywhere. More specifically, it supports four different types of synchronization:
1) Multiple computer synchronization. Personal calendars will automatically stay synchronized between multiple computers using a .Mac account (must be purchased separately).
2) Offline synchronization. Mobile users can detach from a shared database with all their data and synchronize their changes when they return to the office network.
3) Handheld device synchronization. SOHO Calendars works with the synchronization technologies built-in to the Mac OS which means calendars can be synchronized to cell phones, Palm handhelds, iPods, etc. using Apple's iSync application.
4) iCal synchronization. SOHO Calendars synchronizes seamlessly with Apple's iCal so calendars are available in other applications that work with iCal. This also means you can use iCal to publish shared company calendars to the Web.
TIGHT SOHO ORGANIZER INTEGRATION
SOHO Calendars is also a member of the new SOHO Organizer suite which consists of four applications: SOHO Contacts, SOHO Calendars, SOHO Notes, and SOHO Print Essentials. As a member of this suite, it integrates seamlessly with the other members. This means, for example, that users can attach events and to-dos from SOHO Calendars to their contacts in SOHO Contacts. Further, this can be done directly from SOHO Contacts.
ABOUT THE SOHO SERIES
The SOHO Series is an integrated series of software solutions that are designed and written specifically for small office and home office users. However, the true power of the SOHO Series shines through when the products are used together to create solutions that are greater than the sum of their individual parts.
